Jardin De flores

"Jardin De Flores is the exploration of self, identity, and community while also exploring the ideas of nature and our relationship to it. While working on this project, I’ve learned so much about my cultural ties to language and music while also exploring the topics of human impact on our planet. Jardin De Flores represents my growth as an artist as I’ve learned to refine the central ideas that interest me while creating new worlds for my characters to live in. A world where they can interact with each other and communicate their emotions and feelings with one another."

"Jardin De Flores, which translates to “Flower Garden” in English, is a way in which I can tell these stories and relationships. The garden in which these flowers and creatures inhabit represents the community we share as individuals and the ways in which we are able to communicate closely with one another. The flowers and creatures themselves represent our community of people with shared stories or similarities yet having vastly different origins and backgrounds. "

"In order to tell our stories in the Latine Community, everyone who is a part of the project, from lighting to costuming, modeling, etc., is a Latin-identifying individual. All representing their own stories and struggles through body language, costuming, and color."
